    Desert Control

    It is an on-going state plan scheme.

    Beneficiary:

    To control the advancement of deserts through afforestation by creation of wind breaks, shelter belts etc.

    Benefits:

    The desert conditions prevail in the districts of Bhiwani, Rewari, Mohindergarh, etc. The rainfall is scanty as the area is marked by the extremes of climate. It is generally dry during the greater part of the year. The area affected by wind erosion constitutes nearly 20% of the total area of the State. The treatment consists in raising shelterbelts and wind breaks along Rail, Road, Canal and Bunds. The species that will be planted include Azadirachta indica, Acacia nilotica, Pongamia pinnata, Zizyphus, Dalbergia etc.

    How To Apply

    The scheme will be entirely funded from the State plan funds.
